Who can Apply?
Anyone over 18 years of age that can show at least $1,000 USD monthly income from Donations, Royalties, Annuity , Pension or any other sources can apply.
The income, pension or annuity can be from a private company, military, government agencies, corporations, a bank, an insurance company, or a trust.
Visit Panama for 5 days to submit the application and obtain your temporary residency card.
The processing takes 3 to 6 months.
You do not need to stay in Panama while your visa is being processed.
When the application is approved, you will be granted permanent residency. You will need to visit Panama again to obtain your permanent residency card.

Passport from any country
National criminal background certificate
Letter from a private company, guild, military, government, trust, insurance, or any other type of agency, stating you receive at least $1,000 USD per month for life
Good health certificate issued in Panama
Sworn declaration form
6 passport size photos
Proof of domicile in Panama, through a utility bill, rental agreement, or a letter from a hotel

Can I bring my Family with me?
The Panama Retiree Visa allows you to bring your family with you. To bring your spouse or children 18 and under, you must increase your minimum monthly income by $250 USD per family member.

- 6 photographs of each family member
- Health certificate for each family member issued in Panama
- Letter of responsibility
Can I work in Panama with this Visa?
If the objective is to get Citizenship and Passport, a work permit is necessary for Pensioners that are not operating their own Business or investing in Panama
Visa holders can still obtain a work permit in two ways:
a) Request a 3-year renewable work permit
b) Request a permanent work permit after 10 years of residency
